We have made the decision to delay the phased return of Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils. Children from these year groups will now return to school on Monday 8th June. Please read the letter from our Principal below:

Dear families,

I hope you and your family are well.

We have made the decision to delay the phased return of Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils, as a precaution. Children from these year groups will now return to school on Monday 8 June. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

A member of the Stradbroke Academy team has had a member of their family test positive for Covid-19. Please be assured that our colleague has tested negative. Although our staff member hasn’t been diagnosed with Covid-19, someone in their household has, so we’re taking some precautions to protect our community.

  • We have asked our team members who have been in contact with them to self-isolate for 14 days

  • We have contacted the families of pupils in contact with them to self-isolate for 14 days

  • Our school will be thoroughly cleaned over the half term break

We have delayed children coming back to school due to the number of team members self-isolating, we won’t have enough teaching staff to care for them.

We will be able to continue to care for the children of key workers and vulnerable children. This is a much smaller group and we have suitable numbers of staff.

I know this is worrying news, but please be assured we’re taking these actions as a precaution. The safety of our children, team, families and wider community is our top priority.

If you have any questions, please email stradbrokeoffice@inspirationtrust.org

Best wishes,

Tanya Blake
