Community-spirited children from Stradbroke Primary Academy gave up their Sunday to help shoppers with their packing and raised over £300 for a school trip.

Twelve Year 6 pupils worked in two-hour shifts at the checkouts of Morrisons in Gorleston on Sunday, May 19. Grateful customers donated £340 which will go towards the Year 6 residential trip later this term. The session was arranged by teaching assistant Eunice Ortega and supported by school staff and a parent volunteer.

“The pupils received lots of comments about how smart and polite they were. We are very proud of them being fantastic ambassadors within our community.”
